Snow White Birthday Party

Yea for turning 3!  I'm so proud of my soon to be 3 year old! Potty trained and polite, loves accessories including shoes, purses, and jewelry, has started trying to write her name, and can sing with the best of them. She is not my dancer...in fact she refuses to dance, but she will sing your ear off. She will plan your outfit for you, and tell you what to do all day long, for that matter. She is very opinionated but takes a long time to make a decision. That's why, I was shocked one day when she announced that she wanted a Snow White birthday party.

Now, she has seen Snow White. She went through a Snow White everyday phase for a bit, but it hasn't been lately. She did not back down from the decision and even told Snow White herself at Disney World that she was having a Snow White birthday to which Snow White replied, "Your having a birthday about me!?" NOTE: I also must add here that I am super excited to NOT be throwing a Frozen birthday party.

So I put it off as long as I could, but I pulled off a Snow White Birthday Party!

Decorations:I proudly displayed the Birthday Girl's picture of her and Snow White from our recent trip to Disney World. Snow White's signature matches exactly the signature in our autographs from Disney World. You can double check me on this.

I used my Silhouette to make a vinyl mirror stencil for the bathroom. We had to decorate in there too!

Snow White plates and napkins do exist but they aren't really the right colors so I just got red, blue, and white napkins and plates.

I used my silhouette for cut some HTV for the banner. I used the same snow white silhouette on the banner that I did for the favor bags.

Balloon Banners are easy and make a huge impact. There is a great tutorial here

I did this for my son's three year old party so I had to do it for my daughters! Find a themed picture and blow it up on your printer and glue to foam board then cut out the face. I saved the picture in a PDF because adobe acrobat allowed for easy poster size printing. I found posterboard that was already sticky so it saved time on gluing.

And of course, the birthday girl needed her own special hair bows!  I used printable fabric for the snow white and then a button cover kit.

Favors:

I made each girl guest a snow white bow. You can find the tutorial here on Grosgrain Fabulous. I made my own bow holder with a special 'thank you' from the birthday girl with my Silhouette Cameo.

I got these cute bird whistles from Amazon and printed these Whistle While You Work Tags.
The rest of the bag was filled with candy. Oh yeah the bags! I found red paper bags at Dollar Tree for 3 for a $1 (obviously). I made Snow White silhouettes on my Cameo with regular vinyl and they turned out great!

Games:
My husband brought it to my attention that most three year olds might not have actually seen the movie Snow White. So I found this golden book on Amazon and read the kids the story of Snow White so all the activities and games would make sense. I know they are 2 and 3 but everyone likes a good story, right?

After that we decorated Magic Mirrors. I picked up the mirrors at HobbyLobby.com here. I got jewels, foam stickers, and glitter glue. I picked up some tiny craft glues at JoAnns for 60 cents and found an awesome glue dot dispenser.
For the boys, I found beard templates. I got elastic to tie and cotton balls to glue on to them. I found the beard template here. The mirrors were more of a hit because we had mostly girls.

I also made a game called "basket full of wishes". The kids actually at this point were more interested in just playing on the swing set, but my daughter, the birthday girl, loved the game and played it for weeks after. I got the idea from this game. I combined the idea of Snow White making wishes into the wishing well and got "basket full of wishes".  You could get super creative and make an adorable wishing well which is what I had planned on but I ran out of time. You can print out the "wishes" here. Cut them up and place them in a basket or a wishing well. Kids take turn acting out the actions.

Lastly, I placed sheets of drawing paper on my wall and taped blown up red balloons filled with candy. We found red, blue, and gold, coins for the candy at Party City. I taped them in the shape of an apple. Using a toothpick, the kids took turns popping the balloons and getting the candy inside! They loved this game! I was worried about kids being scared of the balloon popping but everyone was ok.

Food:

My sister made these adorable cookies! The apples have a bite taken out of them! How cute is that!

I made a snow white dress cake from cupcakes. It was super easy to do. But my favorite part was how easy it was to serve them to the kids. Quick and painless! My daughter LOVES cupcakes so this was the perfect cake for her.

Pinterest sucked me in and while I did not need these extra cupcakes, it actually worked out perfect because I had some leftover that I did not need for the snow white dress. I iced these, then topped with a single color of M&Ms and then piped on the "pie crust". These were very popular but hard to eat, I was told, because of all of the M&Ms. haha

Here are the beautiful cookies again...We also had carrots and fruit and stuff like that but who cares? right? Oh but see those carmel apples in the bottom picture? We had those too. It was a SNOW WHITE party after all. Those were delicious.

We also had a wonderful family friend come in and face/body paint for the kids. Kids got their hands mostly painted but they loved it.  My mom got a matching bracelet with my daughter. Aren't they cute?

Thanks for checking out my Snow White Party!
